At Grace, every member is a minister, called by God to love and serve the community and our brothers and sisters around the world. We live out the teachings of Jesus through the gifts of our time, talents and treasures. The following are a few of the ways we are currently serving:

Road Angels
Transportation Services

The Road Angels provide transportation services only to members of Grace Lutheran Church or associate members for:

  1. trips to medical providers
  2. trips for medical procedures
  3. trips to medical, psychological, psychiatric, or counseling services
  4. grocery shopping

Please refer to the Road Angels Protocol for more information on how to use this service.

Outreach Café

On the 4th Sunday of each month, volunteers prepare a delicious breakfast that is served between services.  The free will offering from the Café is shared with different missions of the church such as PADS, Habitat for Humanity and the local food pantries.

Food Pantry

Grace shares both financial and in-kind gifts to two local Food Pantries that help fight hunger in our community – The Richmond Community Food Pantry (815-236-1471) and the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Genoa City, WI (262-279-0088).

Haiti Ministry

Since 1994, Grace has partnered with organizations with a presence in Haiti (Feed My Starving Children and Haiti’s Children Inc.) to assist with medical clinics, build churches, and provide education, medical care and spiritual care of many residents.

McHenry County Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live regardless of race or religion.  Whenever possible, they build sustainable, energy-efficient and healthy housing.

Grace shares financial support and volunteer labor to aid Habitat build and repair houses in McHenry County that local families purchase through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods.

Watch for announcements of the next Volunteer Work Day.

McHenry County PADS
Public Action to Defend Shelter

PADS offers emergency and transitional housing coupled with support services in order to help individuals experiencing homelessness work toward becoming self-sufficient.

Prayer Intercessors

As a community, Grace prays for the world, the church and all people.  The Prayer Intercessors are a group of dedicated people willing to pray when needed.  When a prayer request is received, it’s sent by email to the Prayer Intercessors who then pray for those who have been placed on the Prayer List.

Prison Fellowship Angel Tree / Salvation Army Angel Tree

Chuck Colson’s Prison Fellowship Angel Tree provides Christmas gifts to the children of prisoners from their incarcerated parent.

The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program shares the miracle of Christmas  with children in need in our community by providing a variety of gifts for children from birth to age 17 as well as gift cards and cash for food or additional gifts as needed.

Grace provides gifts for both the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree and the Salvation Army Angel Tree each Christmas.

World Vision

World Vision helps build and maintain wells for villages in Africa and participates in disaster relief worldwide.  Grace shares financial gifts with World Vision in support of their efforts to ensure the world’s most vulnerable have safe drinking water.
