Our stewardship team is working to make sure people are aware of the good work God is doing at Grace. We are excited to share stories from our members about how your generosity has positively impacted individuals and communities. Our next story  features Holly and Fred Okoth, who lead a school and mission in Kenya that Grace supports .

When we started Good News Migwena Academy, our dream was simple: give kids in our community the kind of education that sparks curiosity and opens doors for the future. But we quickly learned that it takes more than teachers and classrooms. It takes books, supplies, and hands-on tools that make learning come alive.

Because of your generosity at Grace Lutheran Church, our students now have the kind of resources that help them truly learn. We’ve been able to stock our library with storybooks, add new textbooks for every subject, and bring in science materials that let kids explore and experiment.

One of my favorite moments was hearing about Brian, a boy who started school two years behind in reading. With the new books you helped provide, Brian’s confidence began to grow. Now, he’s reading at grade level and dreaming of becoming a teacher himself.

And there’s even more good news, this year, we finished building our new middle school classrooms! This means our students can continue learning in a safe, well-equipped environment without having to transfer to schools far from home. It’s one more step toward ensuring that every child in our community has the opportunity to learn and thrive from preschool through middle school, and maybe eventually high school.

We know God has more ahead. Our hope is to keep expanding access to quality education, so that children here can grow into leaders, problem-solvers, and followers of Jesus who will impact Kenya for generations to come.
