We wanted to let you know what our plans are for worship on Easter. Obviously, this year has presented a number of challenges for in-person worship. Because of the continued prevalence of COVID-19 cases, and recommendations from our local health department, we have decided that we will have two services on Easter Sunday (8:00am - indoor and 9:30am - outdoor). While we are still working on some of the details, we can share with you a few things:
-The 9:30am outdoor service will be in our parking lot, but will not be a “drive-in” service. Because of the design of our parking lot, we cannot organize cars in such a way that everyone can see the service. In order to participate, you will have to get out of your car. A portion of the parking lot will be reserved for the service, the rest of the parking lot will be available for parking. If you would like to sit please bring a chair. If the forecast calls for rain, the outdoor service will be inside.
-Both services will be simple, meaningful, and short (30-40) minutes. Both services will have scripture, a sermon, communion, and prayer. The outdoor service will have singing but the indoor service will not due to recommendations from the health department.
-We ask that everyone who attends either service wears a mask and stays six feet from non-family members.
-We understand that not everyone may feel comfortable participating in this service. Therefore, we will offer an online Easter service. When it is posted, you may find the online service on our website (gracelutheran1.org), Facebook page, and YouTube Page.
-We will also offer Maundy Thursday and Good Friday Worship online and in-person. Both in-person versions of the service will be at 7pm.
Thank you for your flexibility. If you have any questions please let me know. Whether it is in-person or virtually, I look forward to celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior together.
In Christ, Pastor Andy
