We wanted to let you know what our plans were for worship on Christmas Eve. Obviously, this year has presented a number of challenges for in-person worship. Because of the continued increase of COVID-19 cases, and recommendations from our local health department, we have decided that we will have one outdoor in-person worship service on Christmas Eve at 5pm. While we are still working on some of the details, we can share with you a few things:
-The service will be in our parking lot, but will not be a “drive-in” service. Because of the design of our parking lot, we cannot organize cars in such a way that everyone can see the service. In order to participate, you will have to get out of our car. A portion of the parking lot will be reserved for the service, the rest of the parking lot will be available for parking. If you would like to sit please bring a chair.
-The service will be simple, meaningful, and short (30-40) minutes. We hope to have it include scripture, communion, and the singing of Christmas hymns. We even have special LED candles that will allow us to sing Silent Sight together.
-We ask that everyone who attends the service wear a mask and stay six feet from non-family members.
-We understand that not everyone may feel comfortable participating in this service. Therefore, we will offer an online Christmas Eve service. When it is posted, you may find the online service on our website (gracelutheran1.org), Facebook page, and YouTube Page.
Thank you for your flexibility. If you have any questions please let me know. Whether it is in-person or virtually, I look forward to celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior together.
